چکیده

Abstract This study comprehensively assesses the performance of 29 Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) Global Climate Models (GCMs) and their ensemble mean (ENS_MEAN) over Vietnam. The spatiotemporal variability near-surface temperature precipitation is thoroughly evaluated for 30-year historical period 1985–2014. Results show that models can reasonably reproduce observational annual cycles spatial distribution precipitation, though performances vary across seven climatic sub-regions Due to coarse resolutions, produce warm biases certain highland mountainous areas, many them cannot rainy season shift from summer in most toward end year Central Finally, these results are summarized, a score assigned each model, inferring ranking. top three EC-Earth3-Veg, EC-Earth3, HadGEM3-GC31-MM. Although created by simply averaging all models, ENS_MEAN compete with best GCMs ranks 4th overall. In same model family, higher-resolution experiment exhibits higher ranking than lower-resolution one. this provide reference choice appropriate CMIP6 upcoming downscaling activities

Evaluation of global climate models for Indian monsoon climatology

The viability of global climate models for forecasting the Indian monsoon is explored. Evaluation and intercomparison of model skills are employed to assess the reliability of individual models and to guide model selection strategies. Two dominant and unique patterns of Indian monsoon climatology are trends in maximum temperature and periodicity in total rainfall observed after 30 yr averaging ...

A Performance Evaluation Method for Climate Coupled Models

In the High Performance Computing context, the performance evaluation of a parallel algorithm is carried out mainly by considering the elapsed time for running the parallel application with both different number of cores and different problem sizes (for scaled speedup). Typically, parallel applications embed mechanisms to efficiently use the allocated resources, guaranteeing for example a good ...

AerChemMIP: quantifying the effects of chemistry and aerosols in CMIP6

The Aerosol Chemistry Model Intercomparison Project (AerChemMIP) is endorsed by the Coupled-Model Intercomparison Project 6 (CMIP6) and is designed to quantify the climate and air quality impacts of aerosols and chemically reactive gases. These are specifically near-term climate forcers (NTCFs: methane, tropospheric ozone and aerosols, and their precursors), nitrous oxide and ozonedepleting hal...

Global climate models: past, present, and future.

Introduction Global climate is a result of the complex interactions between the atmosphere, cryosphere (ice), hydrosphere (oceans), lithosphere (land), and biosphere (life), fueled by the non-uniform spatial distribution of incoming solar radiation. We know from climate reconstructions using recorders such as ice cores, ocean and lake sediment cores, tree rings, corals, cave deposits, and groun...

evaluation of empirical models and competition indices in ranking canola

in order to evaluate the competitive ability (ca) of canola cultivars against wild mustard, two experiments were conducted at the gorgan institute in iran during the 2005-2007 cropping seasons. the experimental factors were canola cultivars (1st year: zarfam, option500, hayola330, hayola401, talayh, rgs003 and sarigol; 2nd year: zarfam, hayola330, rgs003 and option500) and weed density (1st yea...
